Dr. Juan Redmon jr.

As a youth growing up in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Juan Redmon Jr. was heavily involved in athletics. Participating in baseball, basketball, and football year around until attending McCluer North High School when he decided to focus on basketball and football. After graduating he attended Missouri Southern State University as a walk-on member of the football team. After only a semester on campus he decided to transfer to MidAmerica Nazarene University. During his tenure at MNU he amassed numerous accolades and was inducted into the MNU Athletics Hall of Fame.

After exhausting his athletic eligibility, he decided to pursue a master’s degree and begin his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Southern Nazarene University. Once complete with his master’s degree he accepted a full-time role at Bethany College for several seasons before stepping away to from coaching to better support his family financially. During this period, he decided to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree, specializing in Sport & Athletic Management. Since successfully defending his dissertation, he has launched ‘Identity First Consulting Group’ as a resource to serve institutions and athletic stakeholders. In addition to that he is also an Associate Professor of Sports Management at Benedictine College, designing the first iteration of their Sports Management Degree Program.

Dr. Juan is married to Britney, and the couple has four children Juan III (Tre), Nia, Bria, and Isaiah. His life mission is to use “God Give Gifts” (G3) to serve others while helping them discover who they are beyond athletics and societal stereotypes.
